Shiggy:

Wilderness H3 and Social Distancing H3 present a true DP experience!

Have you ever experienced the DP (not double penetration you wankers!)?

The Devil's Path is considered one of the most challenging trails on the East Coast and as a shiggy-lover, it holds a special place in my heart! This backpacking hash will be 21 miles over three days with scrambles, lakes, waterfalls, puppers, and beer (yes, you get beer and seltzers at one of your camps)!

Join hashers from both coasts as we continue to practice social distancing (unless you and the other people are vaccinated), and we will trek into the depths of the Catskills. Expect a difficult trail...booze...solid hashers...and your normal Down Down (that's me you fuckers) hijinks. As a former wilderness guide...I got you all...and this will be the second backpacking hash since moving from RenoTahoe to the East Coast, and the third event for Wilderness H3 and Social Distancing H3.

Intro and Advice:

The map for this route will be posted tonight with elevation profiles, as well. I decreased some mileage, while keeping all peaks, this is the final plan.

The Friday includes 4 miles of trekking to camp, so if you can’t take off Friday, or if you’re flying in and have delays in getting to the area, this should allow you to easily and quickly (rather quickly) get to camp and get settled at a good time, or meet us for departure for the exciting Day 2 and Day 3 portions. I only recommend that for experienced backpackers, though! We’ll be camping at our favorite Hip Camp on Thursday night, so if you want to party a little, and have an extra night and brunch--join us!!

If you’re flying in--JFK is the cheapest for flights (a 3 hour drive to the trailhead), but ALB is the closest (1 hour and 20 min drive to the trail head). If you’re looking for a party before--time your flight for Thursday morning or early afternoon.
