Welcome to the first (maybe anal?) Shagnar! If you want to do more running, in the woods, for 24 hours, with your favorite hashers, then this is the event for you!

Shagnar is loosely based on the Ragnar trail relay concept. You will be part of a team of 4-8 hashers that will run continuously, one teammate at a time, for 24 hours. We will have 3 different designated loops to run in the park. Your team will try to run as many loops as possible, whichever loops by whichever teammate in whichever order.

There will be a point system in place. In addition to points for completing loops, your team will get points for acts of good sportsmanship, most creative team costumes / theme, most charity donations, etc. The team with the most points at the end of the event will win! They’ll also win bragging rights, but the point of this is first and foremost to have fun doing dumb stuff with friends.

We will start with the first runners promptly at 8am Saturday. You can start showing up as early as 3pm on Friday, and I highly recommend getting there on Friday! This park is about an hour northwest of Tampa, FL.

Rego spots are limited to 24 hashers! The spots will probably go quickly, so rego ASAP. You will only be regoed for this event once you have sent the following to me via email or FB Messenger:

1. At least 4 paid and committed hashers on your team


2. A designated team captain


3. A team name

Your rego will cover costs of the event (cabin reservations, toe tag, supplies, etc.) Remaining funds will be donated to CASA Pinellas (https://www.casapinellas.org/), a nonprofit that supports domestic violence victims.

BYOEverything, basically. Cabins have very basic bunks with thin mattresses, a table and 4 chairs, and electricity, with a fire pit and picnic table outside. There’s a bathroom with showers on site.
