Hash #2000: A New Millennium

Here's what you need to know regarding the 2000th run on Saturday:

1. Full vaccination will be required to participate. Please email a photo of your vaccination card to binheat666@gmail.com as soon as is convenient.




2. All attendees will be required to take a rapid test when they check in for trail on Saturday. Tests will be provided. If you test positive, you unfortunately will not able to participate.




3. The majority of the event will take place outdoors, but the apres and food will be indoors.




4. People who want to do trail only (just the outside portion of the event) can, but will still be required to be vaccinated and tested due to how easily the Omicron variant spreads. We will offer at least a partial refund to people in this category.




5. Masks will not be required during the event, but we encourage those who would feel more comfortable wearing one to do so.

Holy Shit! How'd we get to #2000?

Join us for this milestone trail: there will be trail options for hashers of all abilities, followed by an Apres where we’ll celebrate making it to 2000 by partying into the night with old friends and new ones!

Plan on bringing stories, memories, and pictures to share. Note: proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to participate.

In addition to the 2000th trail on Saturday, we have a full weekend of events planned with hashes/events on Wed, Thurs, Friday, and Sunday. (Details below)

Cost (includes Saturday trail and rego) on 1/8/2022:

- $40 until Nov 30
- $50 until Dec 21
- $65 until Jan 4, when online rego closes
- $80 day of rego (we really want to minimize this!)

Saturday: The 2000thRun.

The Big Kahuna. The Main Event. The reason you’re coming to Pittsburgh in JANUARY, when it could be 60 degrees and sunny…or not.

This is what your registration fee covers.

Trail: Trail will accommodate hashers of all fitness levels (and sobriety), with a walker option, and ball buster options for those more inclined to traverse the hills and shiggy we’ve all come to know and love about Pittsburgh H3 trails.

Hash Start and Check-In:

Hash will start from the hash hotel (SpringHill Suites, 223 Federal St, PGH) with check-in opeing at 11 am.

Pack away at noon(we’re going to try to be prompt about that).

Apres: will be held at the North Shore Elks Lodge, a short walk from the hash hotel. Food and drink will be provided, but top shelf libations are on you.*

Expect to hear stories from PGH H3 hashers and visitors from different generations, share stories with people you haven’t seen in decades, and to check out the photo albums of runs you had forgotten about and hashers you no longer recognize (like your younger self!).

There will be a short circle, but we want to focus on giving people time to hang out and swap stories. And several hash songmeisters have already claimed a corner of the venue for some heavy duty dog bayi…singing of hash songs!

Once we get kicked out of the venue (around 7 or 8 pm), we’ll make the move to another venue (TBD).

*There will be a cap on the bar tab. We don’t expect to hit it, but you might bring a few extra $$$ in case we do. Bringing money to tip your bartender is also always a good thing.

Other Stuff:

Proof of vaccination will be required for this event. To register, you’ll need to send us a photo of your vaccination card.

The Hash Hotel does not have a shuttle running from the airport at present, but they hope to have it going by the time of the event. If it’s not going yet and you don’t feel like renting a car or taking a cab, you can take the bus (28X) to station square, then hope on the T (our light rail) to get really close to the hotel.
