It’s time for everyone’s favorite hash event: FLOAT N BLOAT! Take a scenic drive up Route 28, just over an hour north of the Burgh. Bring an inflatable floatation device. Please don’t bring a kayak. It’s more fun when we’re all at the mercy of the current and float at the same speed.
Camping is available at the Redbank Valley Municipal Park at no additional cost to you. We have rented Pavilions 6 and 9 because two pavilions are better than one. Look for H3 signage.
What we will provide: Beer on trail, lunch on trail before the float, and some firewood.
What you should bring: Food for breakfast and dinner, a floatie or raft for the river, an inflator device to blow up your floatie (there should be several to use, but bring one if you have it), small cooler for the float with your favorite bevvies inside, water shoes, towel, dry clothes, beer for campground, snacks, camp chair, tent, sleeping bags, headlamp if you’re camping, and any games if you want them at the campground. We may ask a few folks to bring some more firewood, too.
We have access to a full kitchen with refrigerators so you can store food for the weekend. If people are interested we can try to coordinate meals or a potluck.
We will transport your coolers and floats to the put-in location. Do NOT blow up your floatie. We will have time to inflate while eating lunch. This is a family campground (but they have been warned about us), so please use your common sense and be respectful! Camping is available Friday and Saturday night, but food and beer will be BYO. If folks are interested, we can do a beer share one night around the fire.
The campground is on the Redbank Valley Rail Trail so bring your bike and plan to ride on your own Friday or Sunday. Any questions or concerns, message ICP, Anal Eaze, or K9.
Tent, sleeping bag, float, food for any non-provided meals, beer for camping
